I'm having trouble with one of the rewiring puzzles in level 2. There a
panel that you can access by entering the code 6-2-3 or something. Its one
of the x,+ ones. What order to I change the circuit. It seems like I've
tried hundreds of combinations. help!

I don't think anyone would jot this down. It is I think the hardest puzzle I'
ve come across (I'm on level 5) so far. The best solution is to find a logic
probe which are often found on robots. You might need to go up another level
or so to find some. Use it on the panel to solve the puzzle.

Yeah, I think I end up using a probe for that one too. BTW, where is the
Isotope? near the library area there is a contaminated area with a bunch
of zombies beyond a force door how do you open this door? (read force
field like door) also near the elevator there is a room with something on
a table with green force field aroung it, how do you turn that green
force field off? and lastly where is that lazer saber on 3rd floor?
thanx for any help

I actually managed to solve this puzzle, didn't take that long. When you
get stumped on these, try using a "genius" patch while working on it.
It'll tell you the relationship between the X's and +'s. In that case,
the circuits on a diagonal flip at the same time.

I found the isotope, but it's in a force field that I can't find a switch
for. I also found the force-fielded area with the zombies, but can't get
in. I found the laser saber right near the elevator, that's all I'll say
for now.

It's in gamma quadrant, on the table you mention below.

You don't. It'll open later in the plot, but there's nothing in the room
anyway. Well, nothing other than the mutants.

Flip the switch on the wall behind it (this one had me stuck for a while,
too...)

Toward the south of the level, up a ladder.

Yea, I actually managed to solve this puzzle, but I think it took me
quite a while.

I couldn't tell you how to solve it cause I don't relly quite now how I
did it, I got lucky, but the general idea is, don't try to directly
affect the switches you want to change, change it by switching some other
switch. (Becaues by switching one switch, you also toggle every swtich
in all 4 diaganols and on, like the way a bishop moves in chess)

After I had gotten the first box to lite up, I sort of got lucky with a
couple of quick guesses I and solved the puzzle (sort of by luck)

I play on the hardest puzzle level, so I don't know what the puzzle is
like on easier levels..

I still have 4 of those puzzle solver things (I threw them in some
storage room for now because I hope I don't ever need them, I want to
solve all the puzzles)

I don't know if this is a bug, or if I could do it again, but in that
room with the force field, I just jumped up on the pedestal, going
through the force field and picked it up.

Didn't have to swtich anything off or the like.

I think there's one point in the game where you MUST use a logic probe to
solve the puzzle (spoiler):

On level 7, when you plant the plastique on the southern antenna, SHODAN
closes the door behind you and there's no possible way you can complete the
puzzle before you get blown to pieces -- on puzzle difficulty 3, you have
to click on more than 20 blocks to solve it. A logic probe did the trick.

Working on the assumption that this circuit (the one on lev. 2, which
shuts off robot production) is already pretty close to solved, and I'm
just screwing it up by playing around with it at random, I stumbled on a
way to solve it in 4(!) moves. Here's how to do it. Below is a
reproduction of the circuit the way it initially looks, with the four
places to click on labelled "C". As far as I can tell it works in any
order, though I didn't work through all the permutations. Here it is:
C + x
+ + + + +
C o + C o
+ + + + +
C + x
(the o's are the nodes)
Well, hope this will save someone a logic probe 8-)

I just put my shields on full and hit the deck next to the door. The
explosion only took my health down to 50%. :)

Take a reflex serum, and click your way through without any problem.

I solved this one on the hardest setting with out a logic probe ...
wish I had thought of that...

I applied a reflex patch which slowed the game down
enough for me to be able to solve the puzzle.
