** A NEW SHAREWARE GAME RELEASE FROM 3D REALMS ENTERTAINMENT **
RELEASED MONDAY, JANUARY 29th, 1996

PREPARE FOR TOTAL MELTDOWN!
-----===== [ DUKE NUKEM 3D ] =====-----
Copyright 1996 3D Realms Entertainment, Ltd.

THE DUKE SAGA CONTINUES! - Butt-kickin' aliens have landed in futuristic Los
Angeles and humans suddenly find themselves atop the endangered species list.
The odds are a million-to-one, just the way Duke likes it!

"Duke Nukem 3D truly looks like a 3D supermodel of a game: sleek, sexy, and
gory with lead-thrashing action." -- PC Gamer

Why are the magazines raving about Duke Nukem 3D? It's simple: Once you see
this game you can't go back to other 3D games without feeling bored. Duke
Nukem 3D is so full of action, realism and unprecedented interaction that the
other 3D action games seem like empty worlds sorely lacking in complexity and.

"It's the ultimate game for unleashing all your pent-up aggression. It makes
pretty much every PC game we've ever seen--DOOM included--look slightly dull.
Honestly!" -- PC Gamer

Part of what separates Duke Nukem 3D from the pack is the incredible Build
engine, which has been beefed up to include slopes, greatly adding to the
realistic look of the environments. No longer do levels look flat as in
previous hit 3D games. Another Build engine innovation is that anything can
move in any direction, with allows for stunning environment effects, such as
collapsing building that plummet into the ground, and earthquakes that shake
the entire level creating chasms hundreds of feet deep, opening up to new,
unexplored areas!

"DAMN, I'M LOOKING GOOD!" -- Duke Nukem

Duke Nukem 3D Features:

* 24+ interactive, realistic, complex levels await you in the sinister streets
of New Los Angeles, an orbiting space station and on the surface of the moon
itself.
* Other games talk about being "immersive," but Duke Nukem 3D delivers: With
Build technology you will enter a fully interactive world of towering
skyscrapers, deep canyons, murky water, functional moving vehicles and
never-before-seen special effects.
* Armed to the teeth you brandish your fully automatic sidearm, rocket launcher,
remote controlled pipebombs, shrinker ray, laser trip bomb and other hi-tech
weaponry designed to send the alien bastards to a messy grave.
* Full movement control lets you sprint, jump, crawl, swim and jetpack your
way through hostile environments.
* A fully interactive, 3D level editor helps you design your own levels to
play and pass around freely.
* Multiplayer support! Duke Nukem 3D's DukeMatch(tm) feature allows for eight
players to battle each other over an IPX network, or slug it out head-to-head
via modem. Cooperative play is also supported.
* Awesome and often funny speech by Duke Nukem himself.
* SuperVGA graphics support. Requires a VESA compatible video card.
* Supports all major game controllers and sound cards. Game music by Prince!
(Bobby Prince, that is. Bobby wrote DOOM's haunting music.)
* Play it online! Duke Nukem 3D can be played on the Total Entertainment
Network (TEN) again other players.

(Note: These features refer to the full version. The shareware version has
six total levels, and does not have all of the features to the full extent
listed above.)

"It's fast, fun and feels more real than any other DOOM-style game...[with]
worlds of incredible detail and complexity...simply the best we've seen.
Duke Nukem 3D puts other 3D games in their place!" -- PC Gamer

Duke Nukem 3D System Requirements:

* A 486DX2/66 with 8 megabytes of memory and VGA graphics. The game will
run on less than a 486DX2/66, but with reduced game performance. VGA

Pentium with 16 megs of memory and PCI Local Bus Video.

Files in this Release
=====================
To assist in your search, here is a listing of the files as released from
Apogee. All BBS files from 3D Realms bear a PKZip -AV stamp. If your file
does not say "Authentic Files Verified #TRH 310 - 3D REALMS ENTERTAINMENT"
when you decompress it, it's possible you do not have the original unmodified
file. If in doubt, call Software Creations. They will always have the
original files as released from 3D Realms. The file sizes provided is what
they are as they are released from 3D Realms. The actual size you download
might vary a few k on the larger side due to .ZIP comments being added as the
file goes between here and you. So long as the -AV stamp remains intact, you
can be sure that the file is original. However, if the file does not bear the
-AV stamp, it is not in it's original form as released from 3D Realms.
