Crusader: No Remorse... how do I finish that first damned mission?

I'm playing Crusader: No Remorse (great game, BTW). I've reached the thermal
thingy at the end of the first level, I've put a detpack (4 actually) right
next to it, detonated them, and nothing happens. Now what?
Can anybody help me?

Don't use the detpacks. You are just wasting them. At the beginning
of the mission you were given a special explosive pack for use on the
thermal device. It looks different that the detpacks (although I
can't remember off the top of my head what it looks like but I think
it's black with a couple of red or green lights). Use that on the
thermal thingy.
If you look at your PDA, it should also show you what it looks like.

p.s. If you haven't patched your game yet, you may want to bite the
bullet and do so. The patch fixes a few problems (one of mine was
that it wouldn't open an elevator door at the end of a level for me),
but it invalidates any saved games. I didn't do it until I was on the
5th or 6th mission and I had to use cheat codes to get me back to that
level.
