Hexen 2: Can't make big crossbow work...

this big crossbox at a tower to destroy it. I can't make it fire. I get
on the platform on the left and it says "You're in control", but nothing
I hit causes the crossbow to fire, in particular, not CNTRL. How do I do it ?

I had a tough time getting it to shoot. Even though it says you're in
control, you may not be able to fire it. Try moving around a bit until
you eventually get in a position that allows you to fire it.

Try using the look keys, they help a lot. and dont move cause you could
walk off the platform.

Sounds like you are in as far as I am so maybe we can share some
secrets/tricks along this very steep new learning curve of ours.
The crossbow will trigger if you aim at the tower itself, there should be a
'sight' in the middle of your view...that is what the Barrista fires
at....I was there today and yes it will not fire at certain things on the
screen.

Yes I think my problem was that if you stand too close to the crossbow
it can't fire. You have to stand a slight bit aways to the left.
Sure, I'd be happy to share tips. Just having a time remembering what
each of these weird dodads do...

fire at most anything in front of, to the side of
or even below it. I, for one, managed to use the
ballista to kill the Hydra in the water directly
below as well as 2 out of the three archers, the
other moved far to the right where I couldn't hit
him w/the ballista. Whether he did this by plan
or accident I don't know though...
