Can't believe there aren't any postings yet about the TNP demo. This
game is awesome. It uses a top down view, and has great graphics,
weopons, and enemies. The levels are bi-linear too. It is kind of
like a cross between Quake and Crusader. You can get the demo from:
http://www.takenoprisoners.com/demo/

Would like to hear from anyone else who has tried this demo.

I can understand perfectly why there are no postings.
The game is lame.

Any more questions?

It's just ok. You need a P166+ machine to run it smoothly in 640x480
mode.

To be honest, I wasn't too impressed. It's just Alien Breed jazzed up
with the Quake engine. The gameplay's pretty monotonous and the small
window of play (even when zoomed out to max) just makes the
proceedings frustrating (can't see enemies until they're right on top
of you).

I'll give it another bash some rainy Sunday afternoon, but when
there's things like Hexen II and Team Fortress Quake to play, you have
to prioritize!

I know! I've been telling all of my friends to try it out... I
personally cannot get enough of it - it's very addictive! I've even
beaten it on the hardest skill setting... something I rarely do in
first person games. Seriously, everyone owes it to themselves to try
this quality piece of software... can't wait for the retail.

I thought I was alone in my addiction! We should form a support group...
Anyway, has anyone found/written a walkthrough for TNP? I kill everyone in
the Alamo and I can't figure out what to do next? Maybe thats where it
ends...?

I hope Mageslayer will be as good!

I personally don't like it at all. The good side is that it includes
3dfx support as a simple matter of checking an option. The bad side.. well,
eech. The top down view doesn't show you enough, so you never have any idea
what you're walking into. It's like trying to play a Build game - with the
textured overhead map. The area you're in doesn't have any personality
because you can't see it - it's just a series of areas-of-the-screen-you-
can't-get-to.

Heh, I've just reloaded and done it all over again! I've been over the
level with a comb and haven't gotten to some sort of ending screen or
anything. Man... can you imagine the co-op possibilities? It'll be
insane! With Quake and those type of games don't give you the thrill
of gunning things down like TNP does. You know what I mean... like
crouching behind a log or whatever and shooting over the log, gunning
things down. That'll be amazing when there's a whole bunch of us
taking on the baddies that way! Can't wait!

Just want to add that TNP Deathmatch is a BLAST.
We've been playing it here at Raven, and it is great fun.
I have to admit that the perspective needs some getting used to if you're
into 1rst person shooters (I know I had to readjust my way of looking at
things), but once you do get the hang of it, it's great.

Take care,
