Shadowcaster: What good are swords?

a "magical sword" and a "silver sword" it seems the only weapon
worth using is the shuriken. I can kill things most effectively
as a Maorin with the shuriken in one hand. I get in close and just
keep on hitting things. That tends to alternate hitting with the
suriken and a clawwed paw. Things like the werewolf's guards die
very quickly when I fight like that, but if I use either of the
swords, I can keep hitting for nearly a minute without apparent
effect. What use are the swords? Or are they usable only by one
form? (I've given the Caon sword to the little fella.)
On a related question, sometimes it is hard to tell who should
get a particular piece of armour. Usually it is identified
as being for a particular race, but one peice of armour was not
so identified. I gave it to Kirt, as it seemed smaller than the
Maorin armour and larger than the Caun armour.Since you never
get to actually "put it on" it doesn't seem possible to tell if
it fits, i.e. if you are wearing it or merely carrying it. The
manual doesn't seem to say anything further about these things.

Sorry to tack on to this post but:
I can't find the 4th head:
The one head was by the statue, another on level 4 in a nook, the third I
can't remember where I found it, the 4th is a puzzle. The only place I
haven't been on levs 1,2,4 is behind the 4 fire ball throwing things on
level 1. Not the shuriken place but the other fire ball area on lev 1.
Any hints????
