Regardless of which story line you finish as (Davion Champion, Clan Wolf
Champion (free Katrina), or Renegade) the end game movies suggest a storm
starting from Terra that will 'sweep all else aside' and shows the symbol of
a Red Hand with blood running from it.

It makes me wonder if they are referring to ComStar gaining power and
surging through the Inner Sphere? Or if literally a Terran Lostech force
pulls a reverse Clan Inner Sphere siege starting from Terra outwards.

What makes me skeptical of the latter would be that if we are only talking
about 1 planet (Terra) - A single planet would not have military
infrastructure, production capacity, or enough people to mass an empire
level of force sweeping from the inside out. If this is true then it infers
nobody really comes near Terra anymore or the closest planets for scientific
or archelogical digs that could 'stumble upon' this emerging force.

Either way Comstar would have picked up transmissions or gotten word somehow
that there is another player, and from how Comstar is described in the Clan
Wolf book series (wtih Jamie Kell as the protagonist) that ComStar badly
wants to rule the Inner Sphere.

My Take:
Comstar has found a new force capable of fielding an empire level of force
(thousands of Mech warriors, dropships, tanks, troops, figher craft, etc)
that Comstar has aligned with - and are deliberately keeping the ruling
houses of the Inner Sphere in the dark about them.

I haven't played Mercs yet but it sounds like the Word of Blake. At some
point Comstar splinters into two factions, the Comstar and the religous
zealots form the Word of Blake. I believe WOB managed to take Earth from
Comstar and they have friends in the various Houses so they could cause some
trouble. As far as the end of the Mercs goes, Clan Wolf frees Katrina? Frees
her from what or whom? What time does Mercs take place in? Or do you mean
Wolf's Dragoons and not Clan Wolf?

If you read the novel Endgame, you would know. But basically...

Victor Steiner-Davion won, and his forces went all the way to
New Avalon. Seeing defeat at hand, Katherine surrendered.
Then the Clan Wolf Khan, whom Katherine knows (quite well,
actually, but old history) came to claim her. And Victor decided
NOT to fight him, thinking that whatever the Clan Wolf Khan
had in mind could only be WORSE than have her sit in a comfy
cell on New Avalon.

I wouldn't worry about trying to 'decipher' the hints. Whizkids spent about
.25$ worth of effort to end [kill] the FASA storyline. They are only
concerned about their clickytech crap.

For those really curious several websites have the details on the ending of
the FASA battletech universe along with the final, eh , novel for lack of a
better term since as I said effort was not all that substantial.

All I know is if Microsoft decides to drop classic BT in favor of making
games based on the new Dark Ages stuff I will jump ship faster than rats off
the Titanic.

How do you get the Renegade ending?
