Well is it stable or are there any showstoppers?

Can you recommend it?

Yes, no and yes. :-)

Yes, it is stable. I had one DTD when approaching a building and
looked inside but other than that, not a problem...

No, there are no showstoppers that I've seen so far. My FPS went to
hell in C2 M3 (blow up the docks), we're talking 1-2 FPS here!
But that can probably be attributed to extremely complex scenery and
my crappy 8 Mb V2 card. Never had nothing like it in other missions.

Yes, I can recommend it.

Peter - which version are you playing? US or UK?

The UK version is anything but stable - Talonsoft even removed their
discussion board because they feared the negative comments being posted
there would put off US customers from buying it.

In this line, is the Canadian release which is on the shelves now the same
as what the U.S. will likely be getting in a couple of weeks?

I have the UK version. Guess I'm just lucky then?

Or maybe it's because my hardware/OS/driver combo is in such a finely
tuned shape? (Yeah, right!) :-)

Playing the UK version here in the states. Only
fellow with problems (we play 4 player LAN co-op)
is a TNT2 user who also cannot seem to play AvP
or DungeonKeeper2. He crashes about every 3/4
missions. I'd guess he has crap drivers.

I use v2-sli/mx300/celeron 400@600.
another is v3-3000/Sb64 NT
last is TNT/SB-128 dually p2 NT box

I'd recommend it if you plan on co-op.
In 4 player LAN play this game SHINES!

I find single player VERY diffcult in the
"quiet" missions. The damn AI is always
blasting away at someone... Annoyingly
difficult to control the squad.

Same here. My systems run every other game fine but H&D locks up in
the planning stage. Haven't even managed to get to the first mission.

There seems to be no support available and the illusionsoftworks.com
web site is off line

Now the damn Hardware configuration utility doesn't believe I have a
3D card, although it did when I first installed the game.

Another promising game back to the shop

No way. On my PC H&D runs perfect. There're just some minor improvments to
be made, like sudden ('hidden&dangerous'!) deaths.

As far as stability is concerned, H&D is just fine on my system, has not
crashed once. I have a celery at 464, 128m of ram, 98SE, Voodoo2 SLI,
SBlive. The only problems i see are the crappy mouse controls and the
slowdowns (due to texture loads it appears) both of these problems i
believe are design related and could be fixed.

GREAT, someone else with the same problem as me !!! Did you ever find a
solution? I have a Wicked 3D Metabyte card, system recongnizes it, but it
just freezes and won't allow me to go into the game. Any ideas ?

Yeah, but since Take2 dumped Smart, I figured they must have come to their
senses !!! Boy, looks like I was wrong.

Jeez, I made the same damn mistake! H&D, whilst a wonderful concept, and a
mostly fine game is fuckin' bug soup.
