This is an unofficial Epic MegaGames product update. I'm excited about this,
and I hope you will be to.

Epic Pinball
============
Yes, it finally hit a revision! Not only does it incorporate the new MASI
music system, but another pinball pack is available. Lots of bugs were
fixed, and it works under Windows in a full-screen DOS box even! :)

This sounds awesome. I just got the final beta. I'd implemented several
surround sound techniques and panning techniques into MASI some time ago,
but I hadn't expected to see them used publicly for another six months.
Boy, was I wrong. I booted up Epic Pinball, and lo and behold, the room
was FILLED with sound... from my two little speakers. Just to make sure
I wasn't hearing things, I booted up the old original Epic Pinball. Staticy,
distorted sound... that's what I heard. The new one... crystal-clear
panned surround sound that'll knock your socks off. YOU'VE NEVER HEARD
ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE.

Epic Pinball is in final beta NOW. If no bugs creep up, and we aren't
expecting any, it should be released sometime this weekend. Prepare for
the ride of your life... :)

Jazz Jackrabbit
===============
You've probably not heard much on this little puppy. This ultra-smooth
60 fps platform game in the style of SNES games will let you relive the
excitement you had with many Commodore 64 games (and NES games). When I
heard about this a year ago, I thought, "Smooth?! On a PC?! Yeah, right."
I ate my words. When I say ultra-smooth, I MEAN ULTRA-SMOOTH.

Taking advantage of 16-bit protected mode (courtesy of Borland), Jazz
exploits your computer's memory to its fullest. Again, with full digital
surround sound that'll blow you away, you're in for a treat.

Final beta should be ready very soon for this one. Stay tuned.

One Must Fall 2097
==================
The long-awaited OMF 2097 will soon be out also. In the style of SFII
and other similar games, you battle robot opponents. This game also
exploits digital sound... you've seen the posts about this one, so I'll
keep it short.

================
Immediately on release of Epic Pinball, I'll post to this group. Thanks
for your time,

Joshua Jensen

Does it still scroll? I didn't look closely enough at the box when I
bought it, and felt pretty cheated when it couldn't display the whole
table. Even Night Mission on Apple II could do that. I don't care
about the sound quality -- it was good enough. The lousy 320x200
graphics are the reason it only got played once or twice. I can't see
how anyone can play a pinball game where you don't see where the ball
is relative to the flippers until an attosecond before hitting them.
Makes you lose all control.

Worst game buy I ever made.

I can't understand how anyone could have a problem with the scrolling
of Epic Pinball. I hope you don't drive, because you sound like
you're probably dangerous enough just walking... you must loose
control of your feet if you glance off your path.

It's scrolling in general. It's nice for big graphics, sure. But If I'm
holding the ball in the flipper, can I look up to see where the drop target
is? no. even if I do, can I aim it very well? Well, Decently, i suppose.
I would still love a pinball game that was SVGA and still played well.
Tristan's 'look, the ball is larger than the flipper' action turned me off
rather badly.

Pinball Fantasies is by far the best pinball game out there, I think. Epic's
flippers are too warped, and some of their boards are ANNOYING.
