There's a serious problem with v1.1; saving the game and then restoring
it makes it impossible. To clarify that, it means you can't (at least;
not tried everything yet) complete level 2, get to the secret level, and
probably more things.
Proof? First time I played it through to level 2, no problems finishing
it; into the last room, onto the blue elevator thingy, down, and out of
the level. Then I go back to the saved game to try and get all the
secret areas, do so, and try to end the level. This time, though, the
elevator doesn't go down. This makes it somewhat less than easy to
finish the level (read impossible..)
Level 3; the secret level needs you to run up the NW passage to trigger
the walls coming down to get further on. No problems, as long as I
played straight through to that level. If I restart from a saved game,
though, the walls just don't go down. So no secret level.
Playing through level 2 in one go is fine. I just hope it doesn't do
this to me at level 8..
Presumably this is a side-effect of v1.1, as I haven't seen anyone else
pointing this out before the patch came out?

This happened to me also on my machine, ONLY with the 1.1 patch installed.
This and other button/switch related bugs with 1.1 seem to be pretty
widespread.
