You can also get Starfield Premium Edition for $82.99 with the same
code. Probably US only but not sure.

First they came for the transgender community and I spoke out
immediately even though I'm straight and cis because I've read the rest
of the fucking poem.

I don't think I paid $70 via Fanatical (which is the amount on that
link) and it was a Steam key.

Oh, I get it. I just read the pcgamer review and there is a place
called CDkeys that has the price for $57.79.

The review in the email only gave it a 75.

Honestly, nothing I've seen about "Starfield" entices me to pay $80
(or even $60) USD for it. It's biggest attraction seems to be that it
is, well, big... and the appeal of that has long since diminished

(Besides, when it comes to size, it ain't got nothin' on games like
"Minecraft" or "No Man's Sky").

Vast worlds that exist simply for the sake of their vastness just
don't excite me anymore. Sure, they were neat back in the early 2000s,
when we were only just escaping the claustrophobic confinement of
corridor-shooters. Being able to roam for miles felt novel and
exciting. But now that every game offers maps that are dozens - or
hundreds! - of square kilometers, it no longer feels unique or new.
Rather, it only highlights the emptiness and pointlessness of the
world; it exists to waste your time. I much prefer smaller, boutique
experiences.

Because, beyond that vast universe, what really does "Starfield"
offer? Not much beyond the usual open-world RPG mechanics Bethesda has
already run into the ground. Visually it isn't that exciting (its NPCs
in particular look like something out a game that came out 10 years
ago) and it's gameplay? Well, you get to fly a spaceship, so I guess
that's something. It doesn't really look all that much fun, and I'd
rather play a dedicated space-fighter sim anyway.

I'm sure it's not a crap game, if only because it's Bethesda (and
Microsoft), and with that amount of talent (and money!) it's really
hard to make an awful game. But neither does it inspire any excitement
in me.

But I'll be sure to get the inevitable $15 GOTY version in a few
years.
