Hi,

I have tried Auto-Save set to on and off and I can't save or load a
game either way. Each time I select 'Resume Career' I have to put up
with the seemingly long (seems like 5 minutes) intro before I can
start a race!

Surely there must be a way to skip it.

Any ideas?

YES! I have the solution:

Rename these files located at : C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Need for Speed Most
Wanted\MOVIES

attract_movie_english_ntsc.vp6
ealogo_english_ntsc.vps
psa_english_ntsc.vp6

I just put REM in the front of the file name like this:

REMealogo_english_ntsc.vps
REMattract_movie_english_ntsc.vp6
REMpsa_english_ntsc.vp6

ENJOY!

Thank you so much! I will try your suggestion ASAP! I have found
nothing at the EA site to do this. Really, they expect us to waste
this time everytime the game is played! Bad enough there isn't a save
game feature (I will never buy another game w/o that but will suffer
through this one as it is supposed to be a great game - like you
said).

Thanks!

Well that wasn't it. All that did was to skip the intros. I meant
the long intro each time you start a game where the same racing scenes
are played and the detective pulls you over and keys your car and so
on and so on.

You nailed it on the head!

I now start at the start line because I moved every file in that movie
directory to a backup folder, except for the "dark files. I may miss
some nice videos but don't care.

So far so good!

Thank you for the suggestion!

You can save by scrolling to the far right in Career mode. You can skip videos
by hitting SPACE BAR or ESC depending on the type.
