Doom: How do you exit level 4 ?

I can't seem to get to the exit in level 4 of Doom. I can see it, but
can't figure out to get across the gap.
Any help appreciated,

SPOILER ALERT ...
I assume you mean the Military Base right? Jump into the vile liquid and
head right. You'll come to a ledge on the left with a switch. Push it,
that raises the bridge. Now to get back up there, continue through the
slime; an opening appears on your right at the end of which is a lift. Go
in and push the wall (can't remember if it's to the side or rear but
you'll find it) and you're ready to cross over to the exit. Gotta deal
with a few baddies while doing all this so be on your toes.

Oops that was level 9 I think... the one you want is level 4. When you
go into the low-ceilinged area behind the door that says "UAS" or
whatever, with the ugly pink guys, it leads you to the yellow key plus
the inside of the cage by the toxin pit. There's a red switch in there
that raises a bridge to the exit. You just go through the yellow-keyed
door and on out the exit.
