Let me clarify something --- I'm not talking about the F7 view (from
behind Duke, where he's kinda translucent). I mean where you see Duke from
one point in the room as he runs and ducks and shoots and all. Kind
of like a TV camera view or something.

RTFM, try F7.

Randy, did you even read his post ?? He is refering to the "fly-by" view
of Duke, not the view from behind the character.

I understand that the third person cameras in the demos are as a
result of recording demos as in Doom .LMP files. Howvere Dukes are
called .DMO files and can only be recorded from the full release
version not the shareware.

Perhaps you can actually set them up! That would be cool, although I
suspect it will be predetermined.

Cheers

Yeah, I was trying to figure out how to do it. If you use the command
line parameter to record a demo, those same cameras appear. They're
floating in mid-air, scattered throughout the level. But I can't
manage to get my demo saved! I run through it, quit, but then there's
no .DMO file in my duke directory. Anyone know the proper usage to
record a demo?

Try 'F7' to change the view mode -- you get kind of a 'chase plane' type view...
not too useful, but pretty cool to check out now and again.
