Quake 2 "Upper Palace" Help Needed

Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm at the point where you're
supposed to "Find the Data CD in the Upper Palace," but I seem to have dead
ended at all the yellow force fields. The lowest field (down in the
basement sort of area) gives me the message, "Security Pass Needed to
Deactivate Yellow Force Fields," but I *do* have the Security Pass in my
inventory. I've explored every inch of the level, but I still can't figure
out what to do next. Any clues?

A little lateral thinking is needed. Go back to the lower palace and find
the entrance to the lower part of the upper palace. It sounds like you
haven't explored the lower palace completely.

Well, I've found the data cd, but it tells me that I still need
to find the data cd.. I'm confused.. I found the data cd
on the upper palace and it is listed in my inventory,
but my f1 computer link says that I have to find the
data cd in the upper palace..

I had the same problem. Go back to Lower Pallace, go down elevator and go to computer. You have to reprogram CD.

Isn't it funny that the Strogg technological development was so
closely matched to the Human's that both species were using CDs in the
same time window despite being on different sides of the galaxy?

Maybe the stole the technology from us.
