Very strange. It's usually right there when I open out look. Today, it
wasn't.I went to Newsgruops searchand typed in the name and it stillwasn't
there. Then I had to re download newgroups and descriptions. Searched in
descriptions for rpg and there it was.One of those stupid computer tricks
again.

Andrew, contact via interpleb.blogspot.com
Help make Usenet a better place: English is read downwards,
please don't top post. Trim replies to quote only relevant text.
Check groups.google.com before asking an obvious question.

The very act of getting to the newsgroup is an adventure.
Seems kind of like how it should be.

Is there a way to enable newsgroup access under Outlook?

Er, yes.

Tools
Accounts
News tab
Then whatever your ISP's newsgroup server is (in my case, it's
news.east.earthlink.net)

I use Google Groups when I want to search then reply. It's far faster than
Outlook's search, and besides, it doesn't cache old news like Google (unless
you have a MASSIVE hard drive!)

As you can access THIS newsgroup, it's safe to suggest that you have not
lost newsgroup access. That implies that your ISP (or usenet source) may
have dropped the group from their roster.

Not all news servers carry all news groups but it's rare that they're
dropped.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the directions but it would appear that my copy of Microsoft
Outlook (2002) is missing this feature!

Under the Tools menu I have...

Send/Receive
Send/Receive Settings
Address Book...
Find
Advanced Find...
Organize
Rules Wizard...
Mailbox Cleanup...
Empty "Deleted Items" Folder
Forms
Macro
Tools on the Web...
Speech
Email Accounts...
Customize...
Options...

I can't locate an Accounts option and the Email Accounts window doesn't
have newsgroup settings anywhere.

You guys talking about two different progs here? Outlook and Outlook
Express? AFAIK Outlook doesn't do newsgroups without plug-in programs like
Newshound.

Maybe your news server dropped it.

Usually if you can find someone at your ISP who knows what usenet is you
can request they add it again.
