Star Wars Episode 1 Racer: How to control with Joystick

I have picked up Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. It seems like a good
game....but I am unable to keep my pod upright...I am always rolling
on the left and right. I am using a Microsoft Precision Pro USB
Joystick. I know that is a problem with the RZ axis (the joystick
twisting). I would like to disable the axis and see if I have any
more control of the Pod...but I am unable to do it (It required me to
select an axis since the axis is detected). Any idea how to overcome
this problem so I can stop racing sideways.

Does it allow you to choose some other option (one you don't want to
use) with that axis so that it disables the RZ?

Like sliding maybe? perhaps that wouldn't be so disorienting.

Just delete whatever's mapped to the RZ axis. In the joystick screen,
select the RZ mapping and press DELETE.
