You should try Gamersgate, home of the craptastic FPS.

I just bought Battlestrike: Shadow of Stalingrad for 15 and I'm sure
I won't be disappointed in its naffness.

That place will make a poor man out of me.

Yea, I like Gamer's Gate better than Steam because they have all kinds
of sales on all the time and not just on old games either. I got Men of
War from Gamer's Gate for only $14.99 and that is a fairly recent
release, a game I doubt I would have bought otherwise. I even bought
that 7.62mm (3D Jagged Alliance type game) because it was so cheap.
Gamer's Gate requires no client front end too, which I prefer.

Shadowlands? What, this one? http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/shadowlands
That game certainly is old school. Unless of course you meant
Shadowgrounds, which I think you did. ;-)

I wonder just how much extra revenue Steam can generate with these
little sales. Shadowgrounds is one of those games I'd forgotten about
but when it's so cheap (about the same price as a couple of pints) then
it seems almost criminal not to buy them ...

Quite a lot, apparently. Someone here posted a story about Steam's
sales, and I'm sure increases of 1000's% were mentioned. Not for big
AAA titles like fallout, but the smaller games.

You can certainly see that for the smaller games houses with limited
advertising budgets the promise of increased sales with little all no
outlay is an attractive proposition indeed whether they are new games or
not. So far I've probably spent about five hours playing the two games
and will probably spend the same time again before I get bored so money
well spent ...
