Im using Win95 OSR2 {fat 32 version}. While running Carmageddon with
3DFX patch {U.S.} does this happen to you?.......If i program the exe
file {the 3dfx exe file} to boot into dosmode , the game takes at
least 1 minute to load the actual race. Also when I quit , it says
"starting win 95 " but it locks up.
If I run the 3dfx version in Win 95 it locks up all over the place!

The patch isn 't made to be used with win '95. Even more, the whole
game isn't really coded for win '95.
It will work however, but then you can encounter strange things like
the ones that are happening to you right now...
The solution? simple. Reboot to your old DOS version and play the
game under that OS. It is however possible that this will not work for
you, since you are using Fat32. I don't really know, but try it with a
bootdisk & you'll see...

Bye!

Set up an icon to boot your machine directly into DOS 7.0 mode .. this will
enable FAT32 access whilst giving you almost full DOS compatibility. I use
this method for all my DOS games as I find running them in a session under
win95 often produces flaky results.

To do this, set up a new shortcut to command.com and then modify the
properties. One of the options is to define your own unique autoexec.bat and
config.sys files to be used when rebooting. Make sure all your soundcard and
CDROM drivers etc are there. Then you can click this icon to reboot into DOS.
You can choose to return to win95 by typing 'exit' from the DOS prompt or
hitting ESC when booting the machine.

It's a DOS only game. Try shutting down to dos mode and then run
carmav.exe

Works fine for me (3dfx, OSR2, FAT32). I run it under Win95.
