I have an (old ?) Orchid Righteous 3D video card that generally works well.
This is my situation:
After installing the "Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II" game from LucasArts I
experience a crash (lockup) as soon as I launch the game. According to the
(extensive) troubleshooting guide that comes with the game (wonder why !!?)
this error is caused by a "well known RAM defect" on the graphics card - but
this can be fixed by a downloadable patch from Orchid - the patch is labeled
"R1_2_48D.EXE".
By the way - according to the installation-data I'm using a "Righteous 3D
driver version 3.01.00 - Dec. 16 1997".
So as you can understand my second problem is: where to look for the patch
!?
I hope for a positive answer from you !
Kind regards and a merry christmas to you from

I have a P233mmx, 64MB Ram, Orchid Voodoo2 12 MB and I have never had any
chop playing Jedi Knight. I still play it on the same system and it's still
ok. I also play regularly with friends over the net, still no chop.
Seconded--K6-166, 32MB, Orchid Voodoo2 12MB, no
choppiness in Jedi Knight. -- Dave
Well that's nice, but I believe the original posting dealt with a Voodoo 1
card question...

Well, I had a Voodoo Rush card (yeah, I know, *cringe*) and it had no
problem with that thing.

I had exactly the same card when I was playing Jedi Knight, and no
such problem. I think I was using DirectX5 or 6 at the time.
