Folks,

First off pardon the massive cross-post, but in reading all these newsgroups
over the last week, I haven't been able to determine which group(s) would be
the best to ask my question in, so I've decided that the "shotgun" method
would be best. Hopefully, I scatter enough buckshot around to hit
something...

Anyway, I currently run a two-machine webserver application and am in the
planning stages of moving from one collocation facility to another at the
end of the month. Through this process, I am going to have to install my own
tape backup machine.

We are currently running two IBM eServer X330 machines. The machines (and
these machines only in the IBM eServer family) employ the Cable Chain
Technology (C2T) method of KVM switching. In my search, I have noted that
Cisco also have a couple of devices that utilize the C2T technology as well.

Anyway, rather than installing a separate KVM switch - which is the current
plan - I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a conversion cable that would
allow a non-C2T PC to "join the chain." Currently IBM provides a cable that
converts to the standard KVM ports to plug in the keyboard, mouse and
monitor. The cable I'm looking for would have the male versions of these
connectors, plus a button (and the smarts) to switch the focus to this
device as opposed to the two other IBM eServers.

Anybody aware of such a beast?

Thanks!

Dan.
