Dear collegues

We are accessing DB2 thru native cobol file access commands.
We need help to establish transaction control (commit, rollback etc)
When we declare a file under I-O-CONTROL section and try to open it
using OPEN I-O filename, we get a file status '9P'. This is described
as 'Open Failed Because File Cannot be Placed Under Commitment
Control'. The files have already been journaled.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Before you call your COBOL pgm, you must issue the STRCMTCTL command.

PGM
STRCMTCTL
CALL COBOLPGM
ENDCMTCTL
ENDPGM

If you use SQLCBL programs, you specify the correct commitment control
compiler directive.... See the help text for CRTSQLCBL.
