When we send an ascii file from a folder using the *DOC type, the file
name (DOC) appears as the Subject in the email.

Is there a way to override this and allow a user defined Subject via the
SNDDST command imbedded in a CL? The DSTD & DOCD overrides seem to have
no impact on the Subject line.

Thanks,
George

I do this:
> PGM PARM(&COMM &USER &DOMAIN)
> DCL VAR(&COMM) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(1)
> DCL VAR(&USER) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(20)
> DCL VAR(&DOMAIN) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(20)

> CLRPFM FILE(JMPETX)

And that comes back with an email with a subject of 'Latest Johnson
Matthey Metal Prices' and the contents of JMPETX in the body of the
message (you must have X'06' in column 70 as a carriage return in your
flat file, or it all comes out on one line...)

Alternatively, the modified SNDNETSPLF we use to email spoolfiles does
it like this, using the FLR Document DOCD:

(Sorry to follow myself up, but I'd forgotten this method)

The CHGDOCD the SNDDST did the trick. Thanks for your help and the
examples....
