You might do an override to the printer file and specify PRTTXT. If the
position it prints in is OK, and if 30 characters is enough. This is also
supposed to print on the separator pages, which could be useful. I've only
used it to identify test output as such, but it worked well enough for that.
Two alternatives to counting lines (assuming RPG): you should be able to use
the overflow indicator to condition printing your footer prior to printing
the next page headings. If you're already using an overflow indicator, that
is probably the easiest method, and if you're not, how are you figuring when
to print them anyway? Also, I think there's a feedback area somewhere that
keeps track of the current line (vauge recollection here, no guarantees!)
You'd have to check it yourself, but at least you wouldn't have to worry
about keeping track of the number of lines you'd printed.
