Hi there,

I guess you mean the OS/400 QSECOFR not DST QSECOFR ?

The OS/400 QSECOFR can always sign on at the console if you know the
password but its been disabled. Also if you have another *SECADM
profile you can reset and change the password for QSECOFR.

If you don't know the OS/400 QSECOFR and I think you can reset it by
doing a manual IPL and starting DST but you must know the DST QSECOFR
password to log on.

For DST QSECOFR, I'm not 100% about V4R1 but at V4R5 and above you can
use CHGDSTPWD but you must do this as OS/400 QSECOFR and you can only
reset it to the default value.

If you don't know either password and don't have another SECADM
account, I'm not sure what you're next step would be.

so it seems bad luck, but if someone changed the QSECOFR DST Password it
should
be documented...

High there,
if it isn't changed you can use another DST account e.g.
User: 22222222
Pass: 22222222

Same with "1" but with less rights.

Hi,
No need for another *secadm user, *allobj is enough. Try the
addjobscde (with user qsecofr): chgusrprf qsecofr etc.... Still
strange you can get *secadm this way.
You can simply reload the SLIC, and set your password then, no need
for a complete restore !

Matt,

been there. Calling IBM, they ask for some system values and issue a new
password.

1.set the system to DM restart, and place a "load source" DISC,BUT not
install,enter DST,now qsecofr's password has changed QSECOFR,you can change
other.
2.OR you can use os400 qsecofr sign on ,CHGDSTPWD *DEFAULT
