Hello All,

We have a customer who creates an AFP report and prints via Host Print
Transform using *HP4 as the transform. This works fine.

When they transform the spool file using the QWPTIFFG4 customization object,
the overlay positioning is off. If they change the front overlay offset
settings on the print file, the overlay lines up fine when transforming to
TIFF, but not when *HP4 is used to print.

My question is this: We have tried putting the :NOPRTBDR directives into a
custom TIFF customization object to make the TIFF transform have the same
margins as the *HP4 transform, but the Host Print Transform does not
recognize these commands when going to TIFF.

Do you know if there is a way to get the TIFF workstation customization
objects to recognize the :NOPRTBDR directives or is there another command I
can use to set margins correctly when transforming to TIFF ?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a HPT expert but one suggestion that I might have is to try
extracting the source for the *HP4 customization object and adding or
changing the :RASTERMODE tag to set it to YES for AFP for this
application, and then re-lining stuff up so that the overlay is
positioned correctly for the text. Since the TIFF is essentially a
raster interpretation, this may help you achieve the desired results.

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

Thanks for the response.

They were able to get the overlay to line up by changing the *HP4 transform
object to have a zero margin. Then the transform to TIFF and *HP4 worked
fine.

The problem is that the NOPRTDBR directive doesn't seem to work with the
TIFF transforn, so they changed the *HP4 transform instead. Not an ideal
answer in my eyes.

Is there anybody internally there in Rochester who can answer this question:
Is NOPRTBDR supposed to work with the TIFF transform or only with printer
transforms ?

If you could pass this on to someone who can answer this question, that
would be great.

Richard:

The NOPRTBDR tag is not currently used for the TIFF transform.
