The person that installed our AS400 has left the company, and I don't know
the userid for QSECOFR or any ID's with QSECOFR authority. I tried to use
the DST method to reset QSECOFR, but I don't know the passords for DST (I
tried the default value and it didn't work). Is there any way I can recover
an ID with QSECOFR authority, or do I have to reinstall my system ( I do
have a backup tape).

If you have lost or forgotten both your QSECOFR passwords and your DST
passwords, then you must reinstall LIC from your distribution CD ROMS in
order to reset your DST passwords which in turn will allow you to reset your
QSECOFR password.

Unless you are very familiar with this procedure, by no means should you
proceed with this on your own. Make sure you have Support Line are an
experienced consultant on hand to prevent you from wiping out your user
data.
