Hello All,

Currently we are working on AS/400 S-30 V4R1M0 and using TCP/IP interface to
connect to the clients.
Suddenly we found an error on the TCP/IP Interface. The status was RCYPND
(recovery pending). After we varied off and on, the connection was back to
normal.
It happened several times.

I was wondering to know what is the cause that made the connection was
disconnected.

Has anyone ever faced this problem?

Thanks in advanced.

Most likely it is a HW problem with the cable at the top of the list.

I faced this problem too. I use the Personal Communications module of CA
to connect to my PC clients. It mostly occurs when the terminal
emulation loses the connection to the AS/400.

Your problem is something to do with the communication link failure between the AS/400 and Ethernet HUB or Switch... Once the link fails the Ethernet line on As/400 goes in recovery mode and tries to recover the connection m it tries for the number of times specified in communication recovery count and after specified time interval, thus it will show the message either RCY/Failed or RCYPND ...

Check your Cable (UTP mounting cable from AS/400 to Switch / HUB )
Secondly check for Collision indication on the HUB or Switch.

With Best Regards
Rajesh
