What release? Check the QINACTITV timer value, and QINACTMSGQ settings. I
believe these are doing the disconnect. You may have picked up PTF's that
support these values.

I've a similar pb, but using Anynet connection (SNA over TCP/IP) when I use
a STRPASTHR from my V3R2 system to a V4R3
After about 10 mn of inactivity, my session drop. But when using Telnet, I
can stay connected...
Have you tried to change the value in the CHGTELNA ?
I've 0 in the parameter "Inactivity Timeout'

No other idea...Maybe a PTF ?

In article <QOQu4.204$_U3.16...@nnrp2.proxad.net>,

Look for other posts in here, I am having alot of problems as well with
4.4, need PTF's lots of them, scan APAR's on 4.3 and see what you find
out.

Try changing SYSVAL QINACTITV to zero. There appears to be a problem
(with V4R4, anyway) not recognising traffic and assuming a TN5250
session is dead. It's supposed to have been fixed with a PTF.

Hello,

It seems not to be a problem of system value (my QINACTITV is set to *NONE)
I've found something by looking on APARS for my V4R3 - SA73069 (but there
are informations for other releases...)
The PTF SF52790 seems to be helpfull. It provides a way to change 3 timers
for Anynet by creating 3 dtaara
in QUSRSYS. I'm testing different values...

After a release update to V4R4, I am getting this same error message (CPF5140)
when using telnet.
Has anyone resolved this problem?

What is your CHGTELNA TIMMRKTIMO value?

There's a PTF for this. Check the web site - the PtF number escapes me at
the moment. The telnet server on v4r4 is misinterpreting the keep alive and
killing the connection in a matter of seconds. This problem appeared after
a recent cum PTF application. Look at the ptf list for Telnet. It's near
the top (hence, relatively recent).
