sndbrkmsg to a group of users ?

Hi all...

I am looking for a simple way to send brkmsg's to a group of users, for
example the group is
defined VERTRIEB and has several users in it... so just typing sndbrkmsg
..Text,.. will send this text to all users in group.

I think there was an old TAATOOL named shout doing this... but I do not
have this old prog..

You might also go to IBM's site and check the optional parameters of
that program, they allow it to run in batch.

But thats not what I really want...

I want to send a brkmsg to a LIST of users....not choosing the users from
the list like in QEZSNDMG...

like list SALES includes tue user Lola, fred, henry and so on

any ideas

Hi Fred,

is it possible to define a Workstation for each User instead of using his
name.

Your list could look like this:

SALES (Lola) DSP47, (Fred) DSP45, Henry (DSPxx).

Copy and paste to the command line. Replace USERNAME1 with LOLA,
USERNAME2 with FRED and it should work (make sure you pad LOLA with 6
blanks).

Is the problem that you cannot retrieve the contents of the list
VERTRIEB?
If so, well then you're probably out of luck.
What is the object type of the object containing this list?
