Take a look at the manuals of the HP5, they should list the ESC-sequences
to put the printer into A4 instead of Letter. The same ESC-sequences
you'll find in the WSCST source and should be modified.
Another solution (not on all systems) is to RTVWSCST *TRANSFORM the source,
and just recompile it (so without any changes) to an object with CRTWSCST.
After that, when creating the outqueue, just specify *WSCSTA4 and specify
the created object.

Paul

Dear Jonathan,
Your AS/400 is converting your spool files from the native AS/400
EBCDIC encoding to an ASCII equivalence before sending the data to the
HP printer. The AS/400 uses a facility called Host Print Transform to
accomplish this task. The print driver you choose in the Manufacturer
Type and Model field of the OUTQ determines the AS/400 features that
can be enabled during the HPT process.
In order to adjust the HPT driver to request A4 paper and to make any
other adjustments regarding bin selection, COR operation, or font
selection; you will need to build a Workstation Customization Object
which is IBM terminology for a customized print driver.
The IBM Manual describing Workstation Customization Programming is
available for free from the IBM online manuals website in Adobe
Acrobat format. The URL is http://as400bks.rochester.ibm.com and the
book name is QBKAQ602.PDF.
After you understand how the procedure works, follow the instructions
in this web document to change the paper size requested to A4 by
editing your WSCST:
Hope This Helps,
/Paul

Look into using the PCL Escape sequences in the PAGSIZE section of the
WSCST. Remember that an HP5si selects by paper type, not tray number.
So, you must specifiy the correct PCL codes in the corresponding
PAGSIZE parameter.
