Hello,

I have always used CWBTF.exe to Kick off Data Trasfers.. I make sure
the DTF is set to Automaticallly start and then close when finished.
I also disable the finished display.

Sometimes I notice that CWBTF will pause my interactive session if I
do a STRPCCMD or a RUNRMTCMD even though the transfer finishes
correctly. Miniizing and then Maximizing the Client Access session
does wake the interactive job back up.

Well I just tried out RTOPCB and this is working beautifully. I have
also read that RTOPCB.exe is obsolete.

Am I understanding this incorrectly.

Please keep in mind that I do like the fact that the interactive job
pauses while the transfer takes place..

Is it safe to use RTOPCB even though it is obsolete?

Thanks,
Jeff

the default on strpccmd is Pause(*yes). I am not sure on the support
of using RTOPCB.

I know.. I actually like Pause(*no) because it will actually wait for
the PC job to finish (In most cases) and then move on..

RTOPCB is deprecated. Use RXFERPCB instead. Can be used for both
upload / download and better scurity handling.

Wouldn't you think that IBM would make the RTOPCB command send text to
the DOS console telling you about the new alternative?

Probaby because the new command has additional parms you can pass
(user/password). Of course, the old ones still work.
