I've changed FTP server attributes (CHGFTPA):
- initial name format: *PATH
- initial directory: *HOMEDIR
FTP session on PC shows directory structure like:
/dev
/etc
/home
...
It works globally for all user profiles.

QUESTION:
How can I specify FTP root directory per user profile ?

For example, to /home/anydir for ANYUSER profile
and /home/something for SOMEUSER profile. Like in UNIX.

chgUsrPrf <user name> HOMEDIR(*usrprf )
changes it to /home/<user name>

chgUsrPrf <user name> HOMEDIR('/home/anywhere' )
changes it to /home/anywhere

Thank you very much.
How could I be so blind, hehehe :-)
This option is even in Operations Navigator !
It works.

Now - another problem:
How to block user's access to upper folders (no ".." directory in
his/her FTP home directory) ?
I don't want to set permissions to every directory (except "/home") in
"root" filesystem.

George.

Please look at the userprofil. What USRCLS is set?
Give him the USRCLS *USER and it works.

Yes - it is *USER
But I wanted to hide all other FTP directories for this user.

If no one comes up with anything better, you can prevent a user from
changing directory (and various other operations) by using an exit
program on the server. There's an example in the TCP/IP configuration
and reference book in the bit about setting up anonymous FTP, I think.
