Hello,

on our AS400 system we have installed PSF/400 to generate AFP
Documents and other stuff. Now I like to store AFP spools as PDF in
the IFS. In the documentation this sounds pretty easy: I created a
PSFCFG object (PDFDEVTYPE *IP40300, PDFGEN *STMF, PDFDIR
/QDLS/PCDATEN/) and then a printer device (PDF001, *LAN, *IPDS, 0,
*IP, AFP *YES, PORT 5001, 127.0.0.1 and the PSFCFG-Object). All as
described in the manuel. Then I started the printer and after a short
start the printer ends automaticly. In the joblogs I have found no
hint that helped me, only some messages (CPC1221, PQT3076 ) . I have
installed the last CUM-Tape and PTFs, also I have checked the IBM
APAR-Infos for the messages, but all without success. Is here anybody
who runs this feature and let me know how to configure this propably?

Any help is appreciated,
Matthias

I gather you are on V5R1. We had something similar that related to more
than 1 barcode printing on the same page if the page was oriented as
portrait.

If that fits your description. Remove the barcodes and try again.

And of course make certain you are current on PTFs

We had a problem when we used it associated with QSPLJOB (user id)
authority to the folder we were writing the PDF files to. The Joblogs
from the Writer did not show this but we finally worked out what the
problem was

Thanks for this hint. We are on security level 40 and after modifying
the rights for QSPLJOB it works! Just wondering why IBM doesnt write
this in the joblogs.

Thanks again,
Matthias
