I want to test the new connection before terminating the leased line, so I have configured an AnyNet connection as is described in the books:
- CHGNETA ALWANYNET(*YES)
- CRTCTLAPPC *ANYNW
- WRKCFGL *APPNRMT
All seems OK: the job in QSYSWRK is active, the port (NETSTAT 3 APPCove) is active. the controller and the device become active/ Yet, when I STRPASTHR rmtloctcp, this fails with a sense code.
Is this because the RMTLOCNAME is still used in the old SNA config and is it therefore not possible to use concurrently SNA and SNA over IP to the same remote system? What am I doing wrong?

Before you buy.
Hi Rob
On the two AS400 you need an entry in the TCPIP hosts table.
You will have to give the IP address for the following hostname :
RMTNETID.RMTLOCNAME.SNA.IBM.COM
RMTNETID and RMTLOCNAME are the ones of your APPC device and SNA.IBM.COM
is "hard-coded".

Thanks for your response. We can't vary off the old controller as we are still using it. I was testing what to do en how to do if we are going to use SNA over IP.
I will come back with the SNA sense code.
Yes. And added a line for the remote system. It is there that you cab't use the same RMTLOCNAME.
Darn near went nuts tring to figure the problem out.
