problem iseries zebra tlp2844-z, prints nothing

I have created an outq OZEB001 on my iseries to print some ZPL codes
on my Zebra TLP 2844-Z
When I send to outq the printer file with ^XA^A0N,89,74^FDTESTE^FS
^PQ1,1,1,Y^XZ, document
is send and delete but nothing prints.
On the printer web page I know that the document was send to the
printer but nothing is printed.
Anybody can help? THX

Our company uses Zebra printers but being i England they decided on a US
codepage. This meant that we cant use ^ to indicate the zebra control chars
but something else - I think its a cent sign. You could try getting the hex
values sent to the printer some way, maybe the zebra has a hex dump option
from the front panel, or by plugging another printer ip address & using that
in hex mode. Compare that with what comes out of your current working
solution.

circumflex ^ is probably being translated. You have the required ^XA
and ^XZ and typically a 2844-Z will just suck in data and do nothing
(like what you are saying) if it is missing the xa and xz. So my
thought is that while they are there, due to the various code pages,
etc. you may be running it is being translated to another character.
By having the 2844-z in dump mode which you can usually get into by
holding down power button while turning on, you can see what is being
sent, and that will solve it.
Zebra has a great little tool over at their site that will also help
you check out the printer, and test it.
As far as the emulation for the printer, I have used 4214, 3812, etc.
but a plain jane simple one is what you want, as the commands you want
to pass thru and the printer will ignore the carriage returns, etc.
One other thing you can try, is to take your line like you showed,
paste it into like notepad, and set up a "generic/text" printer on a
pc and hook the zebra up and then "print" the notepad page to the
generic/text and if nothing prints then examine your code. If it
prints, then it basically has to be the ^ being changed to a different
character.

The '^' character has different hex values depending on which EBCDIC
codepage you are using, there is no guaranteed mapping to ASCII. The ZPL
manual has a paragraph somewhere that recommends using '�' instead
since it does exist in ASCII and all (or most?) EBCDIC character sets.
So if you change the above to:
~CC��XA�A0N,89,74�FDTESTE�FS�PQ1,1,1,Y�XZ
you should get the output you were expecting.
