Hi.
I've just installed product 5733qu2 (webquery).

First of all I've installed i5OS products that are necessary, then all
PTFs that IBM suggest or require, then installed 5733qu2 product.

Then I did all steps that described in IBM manual.

So, now I have a few webquery jobs in QTTPSVR
WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCH ACTIVE PGM-QZHBMAIN
WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-QZSRLOG
WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-QZSRHTTP

and few jobs in QSYSWRK subsystem:

EDAPGWY QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-EDAPGWY
EDAPGWY QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-EDAPGWY
EDAPGWY QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-EDAPGWY
EDAPLOG QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-EDAPLOG
EDAPTH QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-EDAPTH
HLISNK QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-HLISNK
JSCOM3C QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-JSCOM3C
TSCOM3 QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-TSCOM3
TSCOM3 QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-TSCOM3
TSCOM3 QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-TSCOM3
TSCOM3 QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-TSCOM3

so, now I tried to lunch webquery from webbrowser http://<IP>:11331/webquery
and I only get:
-------
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform
them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done
that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error
log.
-------

I've spent couple of hours trying to find out what is wrong with that
without any result.

Does anybody has any idea what can be wrong?

Regards,
Tomasz

The Java job QP0ZSPWP with function "JVM-com.ibm.lw" is missing. I
have had that problem when the pre-requisite PTFs were not actually
applied; i.e. the apply was attempted, but had failed -- I had not
reviewed for the actual status by DSPPTF.

QWEBQRY76/DSPWEBQRY may provide some direction, but unlike a joblog,
there is no obvious "escape" message, and then F1=Help :-(

It is unfortunate that the suggestion to review a /server log file/
does not name a specific log file; I do not recall if I ever found one
for that missing job. There are possibly the following log directories
to review [the first should give "JVM found successfully" and some JVM
status in an eapri##.log file; the second gives stderr.log and
stdout.log for the jobs in their own directories]:

/QIBM/UserData/webquery/ibi/srv76/wfs/
/QIBM/UserData/webquery/ibi/srv76/wfs/edatemp/
/qibm/userdata/webquery/ibi/webfocus76/logs
/qibm/userdata/webquery/ibi/webfocus76/WQLWI7/logs
/qibm/userdata/webquery/ibi/webfocus76/WQLWI7/lwi/logs

If nothing from the above, I start auditing for *AUTFAIL, then stop
and restart Web Query, then DSPJRN QAUDJRN for T-AF entries since the
restart.

If there are some system-wide customization of Java, that might have
some impact. Some issues may require contacting a service provider to
get an assist, as some snags specific to customized environments may
still be getting resolved only be workarounds -- or only in the most
recent of PTFs [i.e. not on any cumulative PTF packages yet].

Unfortunatelly I didn't find any valuable information in these logs :(
I will probably call IBM tommorow but I don't have any idea if they
would be able to help me.

Hi
Today I've started auditing for *AUTFAIL.
I've found in DSPJRN QAUDJRN for T-AF entry:

A*N *N *STMF QP0ZSPWP QWEBQRYADM
250397 0000
000

ý΢° ąz

ý΢° ązQASP01 00001 USENU âY
â/QIBM/UserData/webquery/ibi/webfocus76/WQLWI
7/lwi/logs/jobname.txt

I don't have any idea whay does it mean :(

tomasz,

It appears you did not install the pre-req PTF's that need to install
BEFORE trying to install QU2. I had the same problem. Solution was
a complete uninstall, including removing all IFS related files, apply
the pre-PTF's, reinstall, apply the post-PTF's and then install all
*JVAGRP PTF's. Some of these PTF's may require an IPL to activate.

Note that the IBM instructions were incorrect until Nov 4. Any
instructions prior to that are out-of-date.

Hi.
Saying pre-req PTF's you mean these listed here http://tinyurl.com/2ytfhu ??
and post-PTF's are 5733QU2 PTFs?

As a *JVAGRP PTFs would be SF99291 level 11 enough?

That T-AF entry suggests that the JOB(250397/QWEBQRYADM/QP0ZSPWP) was
not authorized to access the [directory or] stream file for whatever [I
do not know what of the entry, even if it is visible text, what] access
method was attempted that failed; the stream file name is:
/QIBM/UserData/webquery/ibi/webfocus76/WQLWI7/lwi/logs/jobname.txt

As Greybeard suggests, the condition is presumably something that
would have been avoided had all of the pre-requisite and a successful
install had transpired. I can not confirm the error is for lack of any
pre-requisite PTF activity. I would expect from the directory naming,
it would seem to be an action expected of the install, to ensure proper
authority to that directory and its files -- or unlikely, a PTF that is
corrective, applied after the install. But over several installs, I
have never had such problems [except when pre-requisite PTFs were not
(successfully) applied].

Sorry, this is a bit random but here is a dump of suggestions that came from IBM Tech
Support when I was trying to get 5733QU2 to work - there maybe something here that will
help.

I did eventually get it running. The sad part is that I remain very unimpressed by this
product - it's simply not slick enough.

Anyway, in reverse order:

Sent: 23 October 2007 17:03

Rochester support have reviewed the logs sent in, they have identified a similarity in the
lwi log with a previously reported problem.

They have requested you try the circumvention that resolved this previous issue:-

The circumvention was:
We made a change in this file:

/QIBM/USERDATA/WEBQUERY/IBI/WEBFOCUS76/WQLWI7/lwi/conf/overrides/config.properties

We simply added the following line to the end of the file:

-clean=true

We do appreciate your patience while we attempt to find a resolution to this problem.

The internal server -500 error is a common symptom for several issues, unfortunately there
doesn't appear to be a single solution for all of these issues.

We have been working with Rochester support on the same error being reported by other
customers and these are some of the things we have been asked to check out.

a) Check the authority of: /qibm/userdata/webquery/IBI/webfocus76/WQLWI7/conf/httpd.conf
Be sure to check the authority on each folder/directory.
I have found a few cases where *PUBLIC is *EXCLUDE and QWEBQRYADM does not have explicit
authority either. The httpd.conf file contains the commands that will launch the LWI
server.

b) Verify JDK 5.0 (J9) is installed and working.

In qshell:
> export JAVA_HOME=/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk50/32bit
$
> java -version
java version "1.5.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 20071511-SR5)
IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.5.0 IBM J9 2.3 OS400 ppc-32 j9vmap3223-20070426 (JIT enabled)
J9VM - 20070420_12448_bHdSMR
JIT - 20070419_1806_r8
GC - 200704_19)
JCL - 20071511-SR5
$
> java QIBMHello
QIBMHello
$

If J9 is not working a possible work around is to switch to classic JVM:

edit:
/qibm/userdata/webquery/ibi/webfocus76/WQLWI7/conf/i5OSStartup.properties

Change:
engine.useJ9=true --> engine.useJ9=false

c) If the previous steps all check out OK, review logs in the following directory(s):

/qibm/userdata/webquery/IBI/webfocus76/WQLWI7/logs/
and
/qibm/userdata/webquery/IBI/webfocus76/WQLWI7/lwi/logs

d) Check for joblogs:

- WRKJOB JOB(QWEBQRYADM/QP0ZSPWP)
- WRKSPLF QWEBQRYADM

Note: You might need to change logging level on the QDFTSVR job description.

This PMR has been passed over to me to work with.

From the information in the PMR I am assuming you are getting the error message - Error
500 Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration
and was unable to complete your request. I am already dealing with another Web Query issue
reporting this error.

Have you reviewed the Info APAR II14318 and installed all the PTFs recommended in the
APAR?

Could you check that you have 5722JV1 opt. 7 installed on your system, this appears to
also be required in addition to opt. 8. If not could you instal this option together with
the PTFs.

In the Qhttpsvr subsystem do you see 4 jobs-

QP0ZSPWP QWEBQRYADM BATCHI ACTIVE JVM-com.ibm.lw

WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCH ACTIVE PGM-QZHBMAIN
WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-QZSRLOG
WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-QZSRHTTP

Could you also check the registry file ...
/qibm/userdata/os/osgi/registry/registry.data
in that file you should see an entry -
WQLWI7:0:/qibm/UserData/WebQuery/ibi/webfocus76/WQLWI7
Let me know if that entry is not in the file.

Yes. the APAR lists both the pre- and post-PTF's

>>
>> As a *JVAGRP PTFs would be SF99291 level 11 enough?

No. because some of the *JVAGRP ptf's would not have installed prior
to the QU2 install, reagrdless of level.

** I am glad to see you got it running after all. I, too, am not
impressed. I thought this would be a great end-user tool, but after
seeing it, I think not. Also becomes expensive with a lot of users.

Hi.
Thank you for your advices. I've checked all possibilities you've
described and it looks like this.

1) There is a "-clean=true" in my "config.properties" file.
2) I've checked the authority of "/qibm/userdata/webquery/IBI/
webfocus76/WQLWI7/conf/httpd.conf" and there was *PUBLIC - *EXCLUDE
for WQLWI7 and CONF directory (I've changed it)
3) I' ve verified if JDK 5.0 is installed. Everything looks just like
you've described
4) I've reviewed logs, and logs in /qibm/userdata/webquery/IBI/
webfocus76/WQLWI7/logs/ looks like:
---

5) - WRKJOB JOB(QWEBQRYADM/QP0ZSPWP) doesn't show me anything but:
Job /QWEBQRYADM/QP0ZSPWP not found.

This job 'tries' to start after I use STRWEBQRY and finish after few
seconds, I can't find any log of this job.

- WRKSPLF QWEBQRYADM
doesn't give me any valuable information about errors

6) I've installed all PTFs that are mentioned in APAR II14318
7) There is only 3 jobs QHTTPSVR subsystem:

WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCH ACTIVE PGM-QZHBMAIN
WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-QZSRLOG
WQLWI7 QTMHHTTP BATCHI ACTIVE PGM-QZSRHTTP

7) I've checked /qibm/userdata/os/osgi/registry/registry.data file and
I've found entry like this:

Admin:0:/QIBM/ProdData/HTTPA/admin
WQLWI7:0:/qibm/UserData/WebQuery/ibi/webfocus76/WQLWI7

So bassicly I don't have any idea about possible errors. Perhaps I
just remove 5733QU2 and do everything according to manual once more.

Tomasz
