I am trying to execute CPYFRMIMPF from a FTP-Client on Windows2000 to an
AS400 V5R1 using quote rcmd ....
If the file is a bit bigger and therefore the CPYFRMIMPF needs more time
also(1 minute for example) , I receive the "connection closed by remote
host" error message.
What's wrong?
Is there a timeout for a command running via quote rcmd .... in ftp? Can I
configure any parameter on the AS400 or is it a BUG?
I played with CHGTFTPA's parameters but no success.

Or is it the Win2k side?
Does the client assume the FTP-Server does not answer, because it is busy
with the CPYFRMIMPF?

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Gert

Gert,
Try the command "QUOTE TIME 3000 3000" this will set the inactivity
timeout for the control and data connection to 3000 sec's. Another method
for the 400 FTP client is "DEBUG T1 3000"

Hi Kevin,
the quoute time did not help.
Did such a "trick" definitively help in your shop?

Currently I use quote rcmd sbmjob cmd(.....) as a workaround, but the nasty
thing is, I dont know when the job ends.

Thanks for feedback
Gert

Did you try the "DEBUG T1 900"?
