Hi,

Due to some internal problems, we have to start our interfaces in
reversed order, so don't let the TCP/IP interfaces start automatically.
Right now we're starting them with an separate program, but then the
QSTRUP program creates a joblog (because of no IFC running at that
moment)
Can anybody tell me where to put the STRTCPIFC commands in the QSTRUP
CL, so it starts in a correct order (before TCP servers etc. starts)

What you are experiencing is probably due to autostart and prestart jobs
running in QSYSWRK as this is where TCP/IP runs by default. So make sure
your interfaces are started before the QSYSWRK is started.

Hoi,

Volgens mij moet je in in qstrup deze regel toevoegen na STRTCP en
STRHOSTSVR *ALL.

If you have release 4.2 or earlier you should put DLYJOB after STRTCP
command.
Example:
/* START TCP/IP */
STRTCP
MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000)
DLYJOB DLY(60)
/* START THE CLIENT ACCESS HOST SERVER DAEMONS */
STRHOSTSVR SERVER(*ALL)
Should help

Try this:

Set all your TCP/IP interfaces to autostart *NO, set all your TCP Servers the same (hint, easy to do all at once in Operations Navigator)

Now, edit the QSTRUP CL, starting just before the :DONE tag at the bottom,

STRTCPIFC (whatever your parms)
MONSG MSGID(CPF0000)
DLYJOB DLY(10)
STRTCPIFC (whatever your parms)
MONSG MSGID(CPF0000)
DLYJOB DLY(10)
*see below
STRTCP STRSVR(*NO) (this actually forces any *autostart server to NOT start)
MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000)
DLYJOB DLY(10)
STRTCPSVR (*TELNET, etc.) only start what you really need!
MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000)
DLYJOB DLY(30)
STRHOSTSVR *ALL
MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000)

:DONE

*Also, if you're running Netserver on V4R3 or below, move QSERVER down AFTER the STRTCP line. In V4R4 this is not neccessary. Pre-V4R4 started Netserver as a prestart job in QSERVER. Netserver is now started as an TCP server in V4R4.
