QSJHEARTBT runs every day and the command is:
CALL PGM(QSYS/QSJHEARTBT)
QS9SACOL also runs every day and the command is:
*NLVLIBL/WRKSVGAGT TYPE(*SRVINF) COLSRVINF(YES) SNDSRVINF(*YES)
SRVINF(*ALL).
When QS9SACOL runs, I start getting my log filled up with messages -
CPIAD0B - *SIGNON server job xxxxxx/QUSER/QZOSIGN processing request
for user QSECOFR on date time in subsystem QUSRWRK In QSYS. Sometimes
I think QSJEARTBT does the same, but the QS9SACOL is terrible - it
logs this CPIAD0B message into the system log HUNDREDS OF TIMES in
just a minute or two.
Anyone have an idea of what these two things do and if I really need
to be running them?
thanks,
ga
QSJHEARTBT is a program verifying a service connection IBM. QS9SACOL
actually sends service information to IBM. I think... Not sure why
you are getting the messages though.
hi ga,
Your QS9SACOL looks just like mine. I don't have the HEARTBT job.
Just a guess but have you looked at DSPSRVA? In particular the
parameter that decides where messages are sent. You might use CHGSRVA
to remove *USER and *PGMR. The messages should probably only go to
QSYSOPR, QSECOFR, QSRVOPR, or whomever, but not EVERY user on the
system!
hope this helps,
ken
