Can anyone tell me how to make source file records appear in different
colors in SEU. I have seen this done on some existing source files, butt
cannot find any information on how to accomplish this for my own.

Any help appreciated.

Carl.

Carl,
If you have library QSYSINC on your system, you can look at
QSYSINC/QRPGLESRC,QSNAPI to see the colors that are available. This member
has a lot of controllable attributes for the 5250 datastream. If you want
to color programs yourself, just write a program to change the source member
in positions 1~6 to the color desired. You might be better served to search
the web for resources, this is a common question. Try www.as400network.com

William/Carl,

see http://www.netshare400.com/cgi-bin/dspsamp COBOL source

These 7 COBOL programs will allow you to do the following:

1. Colorize programs
2. add timestamp in COBOL 73 80
3. Convert line to uppercase
4. Convert line to lowercase
5. Add comment line
6. Remove comment line

I wrote these and have posted for public use. It makes code much easier to
understand.
The color program can easily be upgraded to color RPG

Thanks,
Rick

The RPG Toolbox from www.linomasoftware.com lets you color source code using
SEU line commands. It has a free 30 day trial.
