Thought I'd pass along this NetServer tip as this little problem has
annoyed me for awhile. As you may know, NetServer users can be
disabled for access to shared folders yet remain enabled for signon,
ftp, etc.

You can force NetServer access to be re-enabled by issuing a CHGUSRPRF
on the user profile in question. What I didn't know was how to
determine (using a 5250 session) if a profile was disabled for
NetServer. Until today I always had to fire up Navigator to
troubleshoot such issues.

I had to call IBM today for help on an iSeries Navigator issue so I
asked them about it. There is a menu - NETSRVCMD/NETS - that will be
present if you have the following licensed program option installed...

Licensed Product
Program Option Description
5722SS1 7 Example Tools Library

To check for disabled users either...

==> netsrvcmd/WRKNSVUSR

-or-

==> addlible netsrvcmd
==> go nets
==> select option 12

Right now it tells me "No disabled NetServer users to be displayed."
so I don't know if you get an option re-enable disabled users or
what. But it sounds like what I was hoping for - something I can use
from my trusty green screen.
