A user accidentally put her password in the username field and now it
always shows it in there when she starts up the program.
I know there's an entry in the registry that has this info in it, but
I can't find it. Help!!

Just found it...in case anyone else needs to know in the future.
Search the registry for:
HKEY_USERS\*USERSSID*\Software\IBM\Client Access Express\CurrentVersion
\Environments\My Connections\TVCM400A\Communication
Then blank out the "User ID"="" field. Or you can just search for the
password..either or.
If there is a /registry/ entry, it sounds like a PC application.?
And if it is a Windows registry, then the regedit facility has a
/search/ feature, that can be employed. First thing while in regedit,
is to export the current copy somewhere so there is a backup. Then
position to the top, activate the find [search] feature, check the boxes
to search everything, enter the value to be searched, click the
search... [I would F3=find next and copy each key for a second pass]
replace the password with the user id where it is deemed appropriate.
The following key stores in User ID field for Management Central,
which has a value that would appear could be /modified/ in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM\Client Access
Express\CurrentVersion\Environments\My Connections\LP05UT4\Communication
The following key has a field that is the user name used for iNav,
which I suppose might be capable of being /renamed/ in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM\Client Access
Express\CurrentVersion\AS400 Operations
Navigator\Application_Administration\HostVals\LP05UT4

That next-to-last entry in your registry path,
TVCM400A, is the name of your iSeries server in your
iSeries Access configuration (I know this because I'm
an administrator of that server.) Other people with
this issue would need to look for some other server name.
What program was this user trying to start? I have to
think there's an easier way to resolve this than to dig
into the registry. If it's the iSeries Access server
log-in dialogue box, then I would think we could change
the user name somewhere in the iSeries Navigator
configuration.
Ooops....didn't realize that! I can't seem to edit the message to
blank that out. I do see others posted their server names as well. I
hope it's not a security risk!!!
I don't think so.
It's been a while since I've used iSeries Access, but do recall seeing
this problem before. From memory, I believe I just deleted the
iSeries connection from within iSeries Navigator, then let it re-
create when next connecting to that server.
Hope that helps.
