BarCode Printing Problems

I have a SATO CX Series that I am trying to print a barcode through.
The following is the remote writer definition I have set up and would
like to know if anyone can see anything wrong with it. Also, I am not
100% sure it is not the print file that I am using so I will include
it's definition also. Thanks for any help.

For starters, *SCS print files are basically plain ASCII with formatting
characters.
Barcodes, resizeable fonts, etc. aren't supported. (You can hack the print
file to include
control characters specific to your printer, but you'll have to look into
that yourself.)
I may be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that you need to compile the printer
file as *IPDS
or *AFPDS for it to include the functionality that you want.

QWPDEFAULT is for basic nofrills ASCII device support, if you are going to
use HPT,
you'll need to use a transform that is suitable for your printer, or write
your own.

most of those printers require a special sequence of characters and many even
require that you calculate the check digit depending on the bar code, you can't
just call some os/400 command and expect it to print a bar code.

The eltrons and zebras run zpl2 or eltron 1 or 2 language and each is
different. Some ignore carriage returns, etc.

George is absolutely correct on both counts. I print a bunch of barcodes
daily. *AFPDS is the ticket for getting them to print. As far as Host
Print Transform, I happen to do that is well. I happen to print my barcode
labels on a Printronix L5031. Since there is no Printronix transformation
table, and the Printronix understands HP PCL, I configured my remote *OUTQ
as *HPIII and everything works pretty good. Best of luck.
