After a power outage, our iSeries hangs during boot, unable to locate
twinax console
It worked okay before the hit.
We have a 5250 card (2746) installed in slot C07.
We swapped this 2746 card to another AS/400, and it works okay there..
Our 5250 is really a Windows NT PC with 5250 adapter card and IBM PCOM
software, also works fine with other AS/400.

I think it might have gotten it's brain scrambled as to what it's
console type is.
Here is my step-by-step using the front panel for console recovery
(which I have never done before):

Powered up
02 Enter to select B M (Manual IPL)
03 Enter to perform IPL

After several minutes, hanging on SRC code C6004031, we get SRC code
A6005008
and Lightning bolt displayed on panel

Use Up/Down to select function 12. Press Enter. 03B00061 00000001
00000000 00000000
Use Up/Down to select function 13. Press Enter. 50040002 00000001
00000000 00000000
Function 14-19 are N/A, it skips right to function 20.

Use Up/Down to select function 25. Press Enter. 00
Use Up/Down to select function 26. Press Enter. FF
Use Up/Down to select function 65. Press Enter. 01 B M V=F
(lightning bolt goes out)
Use Up/Down to select function 21. Press Enter. FF

System reference code of A6nn500A should appear on the control panel,
where nn is one of:
00 = No console defined
01 = Twinax console
02 = Direct attached Operations Console
03 = LAN Operations Console

However, no System reference code shows up.

Function 11 shows D1008065
Function 12 shows 03B00060 00001005 00000001 00000001
Function 13 shows 0000000F 00000004 00000001 00000000
Function 14-19 n/a

Any suggestions?

Do a manual IPL and and get into SST and check your console tag
settings. If that doesn't work you might have to do the 65+21
reference code procedure to see what console setting is set to. You
sure your twinax cable is good, maybe your twinax card took a hit.
