In case of UNIX or Windows NT, I can use arp command to see arp table
entry.
On AS/400, how can I see arp table entry?

Thank you,

Hi Ken,

I don't think you can see any MAC addresses on the AS/400, except from the
sniffer in the STRSST.

Paul

I understand.

But I wonder about expire interval of arp table, and how to delete the
entry.
Does anyone know them?

And more question.

Does anyone know where can I get traceroute and nslookup tool for
AS/400 ( if there are ) ?

Thanks,

Hi Ken,

Yee, it's difficult answering to you, I always get strange characters, but
the post itself seems to be OK. I hope I don't make typo errors as I don't
know what I'm typing :-)

For the NSLOOKUP, do you just want name resolution, or also things like
MX-records etc. Otherwise take a look at the november issue of Midrange
COmputing whihc has an article of me, related to device name and TCP/IP,
but also has name resolution coding build in.

A traceroute I don't have neither... maybe a port would be nice.

Regards,
Paul

Hi

1. sorry but you you cannot display/change ARP Cache at AS/400 yet (I meen R420)

2. NSLOOKUP is implemented on AS/400 since R420 ( ;-o) " call
pgm(qdns/qtoblkup)" function is similar to unix nslookup.

The lookup of hosts only works if option 31 (DNS) of OS/400 is installed.
