I am currently writing a program where the audit trail needs to
retrieve the Work Station ID of the user running the process. Does
anyone know of a straightforward way of doing this either in RPGILE or
CL? I expected it to be in the program status data structure but it's
not.

Bryan,

In a CL-program you can use the RTVJOBA command to get the workstation-id.
In RPG it is somewhere in the SDS, I will let you know were in a few
days....

Thanks for your help. This field will do me fine. Unfortunately it
only works when the program is run interactively, but that is another
matter. Thanks

If the job isn't run interactively, there is no workstation.

If you need to know in a batch job what workstation submitted it, you could
trawl through the job log looking for message ID CPI1125. Sounds like hard
work tho.
