As far as i know, the Classes.zip contains to the Java runtime environment -
the Java Toolbox is in the "JT" files.

Didn't see the original post or I would have answered this.
In the case of a jar or zip file, you can go into QSH, and use the command
"jar -tvf jar-or-zipfile" to see the contents of jar or zip file archives.

> > PERPL.ZIP
Perpl.zip is a group of Java DB access classes for some internal component.
I don't recall which.

As Michael said, these are Java Toolbox for AS/400.

> > runtime.zip

These are SQLJ runtime and translator application/libraries.

Remote AWT so you can run Java GUIs on your AS/400 that
display on your <insert workstation running Java here>

> > demo.zip
No idea. Use the jar command as described above to view the contents.

> > src.zip
A very generic name, so it depends of course where it is located,
but this is very likely the source code of all of the Java runtime classes.
I.e. java.lang.*, java.util.*, etc...
These are quite useful for building tag files or indexes over if your
favorite editor supports such a thing.

> > classes.zip
As Michael said. The Java runtime classfiles.
