Thanks for the changes listed on the page. Might I suggest, that you
not phrase things as, eg, "ARCHIVE/RESTORE can corrupt memory", when
that is what you're supposed to fix. "ARCHIVE/RESTORE no longer
corrupts memory" is *MUCH* less frightening.
I've listed "bug fixes:..." then the list of the reported bugs... Of
course, they've all been fixed.
I've found it much easier to copy/paste from our bug list database, than
rewriting a whole sentence as I've started...
It's nearly new year's eve, and I will have to shut down myself for a
couple of days soon as I'm not 100% confident that I'm Y2K ready...
So the less I do in documentation, the better I feel :)

Well, the way it reads in english starts with "These things now happen"
(Kermit now handles "\") and in the same mode, brings up the new feature
of memory corruption. Nothing along the way (aside from hope) tells us
what you intend, which is "These things no longer happen".
I wholeheartedly agree with the Y2K brain faults. We've already had one
guy try to bring in nitroglycerin to Washington state, one pipe bomb in
San Francisco, two people arrested for a plot to blow up a propane farm
nearby... Seems like a lot of non-compliant people are already going buggy.

Can we create a program to convert .flash for emulator use?

yeah, it's possible! (I was asking me the same question some time ago)
you need:
- A working ROM-Image for the Emulator
(If you haven't got an own 49G or you don't want to make a ROM-Image
yourself you can use the file that is included in the HP49 Emulator, you
can download it from:
http://www.hpcalc.org/hp49/pc/emulators/calc.exe (1471 KB)
- Of course a .flash ROM-Update ::o)
- A program to update the ROM (called UPD49ROM)
http://www.hpcalc.org/hp49/pc/emulators/upd49rom.zip (24 KB)
Syntax: upd49rom <FlashFile> <EmulatorFile>
Ex. upd49rom hp49117-4.flash rom.e49
The rom.e49 file will then be updated to 1.17-4.
Hope this helps

By the way, is it true that RESTORE works well now (I never had any problems
with ARCHIVE), exactly like that of the HP48, ie that accepts any directory
(even without the hidden dir as subdirectory)? I've stopped using RESTORE
since 1.14-something, because it provoked a crash soon later. The filer does
the job as well, but isn't as quick.
