You could check out http://www.hpmuseum.org/cd/cddesc.htm. Dave Hicks
is selling CD-ROMs also with 48SX manuals.

Try searching here:

http://www.manualslib.com/download/71271/Hp-48g.html

it should be very similar to the SX model's manual.

I don't know if someone already answered you, but I can recommend the
document collection from HP Museum. There are about 15 manuals and other
documents relating to the HP-48 series plus a lot of other good stuff
relating to HP Calculators.

A good suggestion but I doubt the guy who asked is still waiting.

That was posted 12 or so years ago ;-)

Norm, While the original post was long ago, there are others who come along later looking for the same thing and will find this page. I did. I started looking for the same info today, 2/9/2017. When I finally found exactly what this person was looking for, I posted the info for the next guy that comes along, not for the first person that posted.

A guy like me! I have the spiral bound copies, but I wanted some PDFs.
The cost of a disk at the HP Museum was not too much, but I never did take
the time. Much thanks towards you Archer973. I am certain a person who has
no manual would be all the more thankful.

Those are the ones from the HP museum CD's. I scanned them years ago on an HP 9100 digital sender (it was a nice network scanner). I tried forever to get Adobe's OCR to work on them but gave up.
